The black as a base works for what I want to do. I would just have to cut out a stensile. Do you think it will still work the way yours did if I just paint on top of the current base? I want to put the cobra organization insignia on the back of my blackberry.

^ I'm not sure about how a design would work. I didn't use the right kind of paint before (should have used Krylon Fusion apparently) and the phone turned out kinda sticky because it couldn't dry very well on the plastic. I bought some Fusion and I'm going to repaint it white later today. I will post pics again of how it turns out. Apparently this kind of paint will give no probs...I'm also going to wet sand the clearcoat to make it shiny.

Since your painting with plastic your better off going to an automotice store that sells can spray paint. Just use a 1200 grit paper. and use one coat of primer and two coats of base color and then three coats of clear. After dry use even a finer grit paper to wet sand the top clear to give it a shiny look and it wont be sticky feel. If you want some outrageous colors use automotive house of color paint.

Thanks for the info! i will try the wet sanding. But what about the Krylon Fusion? I've seen this sworn to on many forums...

I'm going to be painting my Curve tonight... I'm taking it apart right now. Using HOK Planet Silver, Galaxy Black and Candy Red... same colors as my car, with some graphics!! ;o)
