    How to Modify .alx file for Tmobile Theme

    Advertisement

    Some people like to mess with their ALX file to get the themes for other providers. Well me, i like to keep it simple and easy for anyone to do. Yes it is simple to do the unlock for the other phones but not for everyone. I then decided that I like the Tmobile Theme and don't want to change any files. That's just me Well anyhow I was able to create a theme for those who do not have Tmobile and want to have the Bottom screen to show their Apps. The forum rules do not allow me to post a picture even at that. Well here is the deal :::

    Well I have many versions for it, I have the ones for the Pearl, the Curve and the 8820. Enjoy

    First post has the ones for the Pearl

    installations is Easier than you think, download these files anywhere and then run DTM
    On that screen hit the Apploader application and wait for it to finish
    Then just hit the Add button and look for the ALX file.
    Then it will show up as Tmobile theme and then continue.
    Once done you can go to the Themes Section and select it now.
    There is a problem with me uploading an ALX file on this forum. I have the file and will distribute it with my site.
    Contact me for the files please as I read the forum rules and since I have the files elsewhere I may get told something. Thanks

    Otherwise open up Note pad and add all this to a new file:

    <loader version="2007.04.28.2343">
    <application id="Windows Live Zen">
    <name>T-Mobile Zen</name>
    <description>T-Mobile Theme</description>
    <version>1.0</version>
    <vendor>Plazmic Inc.</vendor>
    <copyright>Copyright (c) 2001-2006 Plazmic Inc. All Rights Reserved.</copyright>
    <fileset Java="1.0">
    <files>
    net_rim_theme_100_240x260_b.cod
    net_rim_bb_media_100_five_icon_library.cod
    </files>
    </fileset>
    </application>
    </loader>

    Then save it as Tmobile.alx
    Do this via the file option at the screen. I was trying to make this as easy as a download and run, however without being able to post alx files.It will be almost the same. Either way for those who want to avoid some steps. PM me and i can send you the link. Thanks

    Honestly I have not tried that, I think i tired it about a yr ago and it did let me change the pictures on the theme but I was too lazy to make the pictures in photoshop or fireworks to the size and specs. i am sure however it maybe that the file extensions may not be compatible with the theme creator. i will need to check that out as it has been a long time since i tried to make a theme.
