    T-Mobile myTouch 3G Coming August 5th

    Advertisement

    Lots of folks were drooling over this new device this week and clearly this is still very much in the rumor category, but I guess it makes more sense than reading tea leaves. The guys over at Android and Me believe they have found the "Secret In-Store Date" for the MyTouch...

    "The T-Mobile myTouch 3G goes on presale July 8th-28th, but when does it actually hit stores? I had been looking for this information and could not find it publicly released. Rumors I have read placed the launch sometime in August.
    While browsing my Feedburner stats today, I noticed a new uncommon use from a domain I did not recognize. I typed in the URL and discovered the dev server for the official myTouch 3G website. To my surprise, they had a countdown widget in the lower corner that said “myTouch 3G in stores”.
    After doing the math, I discovered the launch date to be August 5th, 2009. I needed to see how the widget was calculating the date, so I viewed the page source. A quick search revealed what I was looking for:
    var launchTime = new Date(2009, 7, 5, 12, 0);"

    I really wish it had a 3.5mm jack for audio....the lack of it bumped this phone way down my list of potential new devices. But I am looking forward to going to the stores and playing with it

    I have to agree that using a USB adapter on my G1 for audio was a PITA. I still dont understand what HTC is thinking here!

    I'm in! It has a few flaws but the good outweigh the bad! Then I'll just sell it if the Hero is better. I believe the same U.I. can be used on the My touch and the G1.

    I was all for it until I heard about the need for an adapter. I'll hold on to the 8900 as I use it for audio all the time.

    This thing while an improvement on the G1 still suffers from a slow, choppy UI experience. I played with a test handset. Let's see if they improve on the general release.

    My G1 is neither slow nor choppy.

    Compared to Blackberries I've owned, the G1 was a nightmare.
