Sprint announces HTC Supersonic next week?

After rumors about the HTC Supersonic have been swirling around the Internet for a few months, it is now time for the Wall Street Journal to chime in and contribute to the hype surrounding Sprint’s first WiMAX handset. According to people “familiar with the matter,” Sprint is expected to announce the HTC Supersonic next week during a presentation by Dan Hesse at CTIA. The timing for such an announcement fits in nicely with Clearwire’s promised 1H 2010 delivery date for the first WiMAX smartphone and we certainly have seen enough spy shots and hands-on videos to whet our appetite for this Android-powered 4G smartphone.

So, it's basically an HTC HD2 with Android,4G and Wimax? That's going to be amazing!

I highly doubt it will be next week. They just announced that the Nexus 1 was going to be released in a week, if so it's bad news for the Nexus, and not too smart of a marketing move.

I think they just meant it was going to be announced at the CTIA show that is next week. Not that it will be released in a week.

Oops. I blame the spinning hourglass that was occupying my attention while I was reading the post.

I would NEVER go Winmo, but the HD2 almost makes me want too, DAMN that is some screen. HTC does some fine work! The Android version should be sweet too. Now android, MIGHT just win me away from BB, BUT it's still doubtful.
