Reports: Google to launch music service, phone
Via Computerworld.com: The search company is reportedly set to unveil its own music service and is also working with a smartphone manufacturer on an own-brand Android phone.
Two separate reports from TechCrunch and The Street say that the search company is developing a music service, dubbed Google Audio, and a smartphone that will not be sold through traditional wireless carriers.
Michael Arrington of TechCrunch quotes multiple sources, saying that Google has "spent the last several weeks securing content for the launch of the [music] service from the major music labels."
It's not just about the device (phone) anymore, the complete package has to be in place.
2. Apps, Music, Videos etc.
3. Syncing, synergy or what have you. Keeping all devices in your life sync'd with the same information and content.
This is great to hear Google and the Android OS are shaping up nicely.
But until you see development of some niche apps it will still be a media phone.
With iPhone and even with my old WM device I could have all of my medical programs on it and ditch the pocket guides.
For some niches it won't be taken seriously. Not with OSU Ross Heart Hospital issuing iPhones to all new residents.

We'll just have to wait n see. . .
This would be nice to have.
