The 'Droid' smartphone will likely be the firm’s first smartphone to run Android version 2.0 and is said to be slightly thicker than the iPhone 3GS, yet also the “thinnest Qwerty slider we’ve ever seen”, according Boy Genius Report.

You can expect a 3.7-inch capacitive display (854 by 480 pixels resolution); 5-megapixel camera with flash, autofocus and video recorder; GPS; Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 2.0; and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Droid is reportedly a three-way effort between Verizon, Motorla, and Google.

Looks and sounds awesome! I wonder if we all get 2.0 when this phone comes out. I'm giving Tmo until Christmas to give me some killer hardware. If not I'm going for this or the Hero.

Looks pretty good. I wonder if something like this will eventually fly over to AT&T.

Those are some great Specs. The phone is looking great w/Android v2.0. It's also nice to see Motorola is still alive. I can't wait for it to become avaiable.

I agree it looks like its going to be a nice phone. I'm seriously considering it (along with the Storm2 and Omnia2) for my upcoming purchase.

Youtube has the advertisement of the phone from this weekend and there is a link to sign up for more information. I did sign up for the info but aside from a confirming email no information yet. I've included both links below if anyone is interested.

Great concept though it kinda looks like an old gameboy or one of those old calculator with the tilted screen but that's just me

I'm still not sold on these slide phones ... worried that some part of that slide is going to wear out as many times as I'll be opening it. But more companies are using this form factor lately. It's all the craze

Well, It's either a slider, or go with a 2. something inch screen. Which I could never go back to using. But thats just me.
