Motorla Cliq Not A T-Mobile Exclusive?
Lavagirl posted a story a few days back showing a leaked image from T-Mobile that displayed their device release roadmap for the remainder of the year. Just about in the middle of that image was the Motorola Cliq, scheduled for release in November, adding to T-Mobile's Android Arsenal.
However, Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha said at financial analysts conference on Monday said that they are in talks to get the device on U.S. carriers other then T-Mobile. Jha said the company is in talks with all of the major carriers and that he is, "fairly hopeful we will begin to engage with all the U.S. operators." Good news for non-T-Mobile subscribers who have been eyeing this device, but possibly bad news for T-Mobile who has been the carrier pushing Android devices the most.
For those unfamiliar with this handset, it features a 3.1 inch touchscreen with a slide-out fully QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, and Bluetooth. It also packs all the Android goodness that fans of the new platform have come to expect, including access to the growing Android Market.

Motorola can't afford any exclusives, they are kind of behind (ok way behind) and the more carriers and the more phones the better off they will be.
Agreed. It doesn't benefit them in the least to offer exclusivity deals. They are really banking on this device to leapfrog them back into the mainstream smartphone market. I have my old RAZR sitting next to my Member's Only jacket in the closet.
