Thanks for the heads up azstar! Now all I have to do is wait for my store to become Verizon. I wish they would get on the ball.

What does pre-installed sim mean. Is the Tour going to be available for the GSM Network.

Thanks,

Thanks,
It is a world phone so yes it is CDMA and GSM. You can unlock it and use it on ATT or T-Mo just like many did with the Storm.

Nikj that's my question. Doesn't seem like its much different from the 8900 other than the camera option. Oh and like someone posted no wifi.

The biggest difference is that this device is CDMA, the 8900 can't be used on VZW, Sprint, Bell, etc. This is the 1st new full QWERTY BB to come to the CDMA carriers since the 8330.

This phone will come out within the 30 days I upraded to my 8330. Is it worth the 35 dollar restocking fee plus price difference? My 8330 is 3g already, but the higher mp camera and screen res. Is tempting!

You also should consider there will be more memory as well as it being a world phone that can be used on other carriers once unlocked. IMO, it would be worth the 35 dollar restock fee.

From what I've been reading about the Tour, it also has 3g (like the Bold) but will be a smaller for women's hands.........

It has CDMA 3g, different than the 3g on AT&T. Like the Storm, if unlocked to use on AT&T it won't work on their 3g network, you will get EDGE not their HSDPA 3g. Even my 8330 curve has the EVDO which is CDMA 3g.

Confusing huh? It would sure be nice if there would be some uniformity

Both the 8330 and the new have 3G but the 9630 supports EVDO Rev A which is faster than 8330's EVDO Rev 0. The difference will be more noticeable if you tether to a computer. That's one reason I want to upgrade my 8330 to the 9630.
