TwitterBerry 0.9 Beta Available for Download

I noticed a tweet earlier today from @jaschroe that TwitterBerry 0.9 beta was available for download. I must say the new updates are nice

    New Features include:
    - OS 4.2.1+: Includes improved TwitPic support. Look for the 'Send to TwitterBerry' menu in the Media application when viewing images. TwitPic uploads are sent over direct TCP connections, see 'Connection Help' in the Settings page
    - OS 4.2.1+: TwitPic progress bar, to show the progress of the upload
    - OS 4.3.0+: WiFi support for all connections
    - Full tweets on the list screen. No need to click to open new tweets
    - Improved network connectivity, adding support for WAP 2.0
    - Hyperlink "@username" in tweets to visit their timeline
    - Re-Tweet tweets from timelines or tweet views
    - Optional HTTPS SSL support on all authenticated requests
    - Background on close under 'Configure' << BIG ONE FOR ME
    - Multiple bug fixes
    - New localizations: Portuguese

I tried it but it didn't do well or me at all on my 8330 4.5.0.89. I had it set to auto update every minute but it wasn't updating at all, tried selecting refresh but that didn't work. The only way for me to get it to update was to go to the screen where I update/post my tweets and the re-select friends timeline.

I also had major hourglassing, lasting several minutes at a time causing major memory loss. I lost almost 20MB memory in less than an hour. I had to revert back to .8 Anyone else having issues with it? Let me know if they post another update.

The only thing I have noticed so far is that it is a tad bit slow to respond once I click on the icon, but that is really only a minor problem for me. And, it is only scrolling while in landscape mode. I will continue to check up on this for the rest of the day.

Everyone I was following on twitter who tried the .9 beta is using a newer device, bold, 8900, storm and they did not report the hourglassing issues, but some did report 30-40 minute lags in updates.

Anyone with an older device like me having any luck?

Okay, that worked....thanks again! (I normally do that upon install if it hasn't done it for me, but I haven't had my coffee yet).

It seems to be working OK for me so far. Did you reboot, AZ? I haven't noticed any lag or memory loss yet either.

I like the new layout: tweets are easier to read. So far, scrolling isn't always responding so I have to rotate the screen to get it to go. Other than that, not bad.

Better, but, until I can follow people and there is a search feature, I am going to stick to Twidroid on the G1.

Twitterberry is just LACKING! Come to think of it, all Blackberry Twitter apps are lacking. The iPhone and G1 have it over BB in this arena.
