    RIM warns of BlackBerry PDF vulnerability

    Research In Motion (RIM) has released details of a flaw in its BlackBerry Attachment Service that could allow hackers to remotely execute code and gain control of a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The firm said in a security advisory that multiple vulnerabilities with a Common Vulnerability Scoring System score of 9.3 have been found in the PDF distiller of the Attachment Service.

    There was a another PDF vulnerability awhile back. This is a new one.

    ok, so just remember all questions are the path to learning, with this said. what does PDF mean? and what does this mean to the bb user that uses for mainly fun and to get e-mail not for work...it said to turn off PDF? and how will we get these updates

    You shouldn't be afraid to ask anything here. What this vulnerability does is allow someone to gain control of the Enterprise Server though your BB.

    Definitely forward it to your boss or IT dept. Just make sure and only open documents from people you know anyway as a general rule of thumb.
