| RIM issues security patches for BlackBerry Smartbrief: "In a demonstration of why President-elect Barack Obama will probably have to surrender his BlackBerry, owner Research in Motion on Monday issued a pair of interim patches to cover up critical security holes in the handset's software. In an advisory, RIM listed four service packs from its Enterprise Server and Professional Software systems that were affected and warned users to open PDF documents only from trusted senders." CNET really hates RIM don't they. All the negative reviews of RIM's phone doesn't make them a Simon say. They've discredited themselves after the bad reviews of the Storm, people ignored their comments and still went out to get the phone. I'm a Storm owner and hated their bad reviews of the Bold and the Curve as well.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ This is nothing more than an indication that RIM is number one in enterprise security. In fact, just a short while ago, security experts were told not to show up and Apple's Black Hat Security Conference was cancelled, because they didn't want to accentuate the fact that their platform was laughably wide open to numerous serious enterprise security flaws. In spite of that, our government, and a few IT Managers, are gravitating to the novelty of the iPhone. RIM continues to maintain the most profoundly secure communications environment for business. There would be a similarity of sorts in their being targeted simply for being the biggest provider in the industry, just as IE suffers the same fate. This is GOOD news. Its not RIMs fault that they're a target. They're top notch when it comes to security, so of course hackers around the world are racing to be the first one to hack a bb. RIM is just correcting these issues like any good company would.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
