From a programmers standpoint though a one-for-all app will lead to even more bugs.

The way it is right now the apps only have to interact using a very light and well defined interface.

Plus, when we add features to the popups in BerryPopups or some features to BerryBuzz all applications will take advantage.

Just imagine we would have the popup implementation in all apps separate. They would all have to have the popup configuration duplicated. And without any interaction you would not see different popup types mixed together. (i.e. if SmartAlerts would have its own popups you would get duplicate popups for all e-mails that match in both apps)

Right now, it would be quite easy to add popup support for BerryWeather with only a few lines of code. And it would take full advantage of all the BerryPopup options and settings without having to duplicate them.

LED problems seems to be one of the main issues right now.

The reports about BerryBuzz problems with BerryPopup are a little confusing.

What we would need is anyone who is using both apps, please try the following and report back:

    - First, what is your device? What OS are you using?

    - Make sure you do not have SmartAlerts installed for this test
    - First test with BerryBuzz installed only. Uninstall BerryPopup if it is installed.
    - Set a custom color for e-mails in BerryBuzz. Do you get the correct LED color for incoming e-mails? Does it flash as it is supposed to and only stops flashing after you press a key?
    - Now install BerryPopup
    - Do you still get the correct LED color for incoming e-mails now? Does it flash as it is supposed to?
    - Try again but set BerryPopup in the BerryPopup settings to 'disabled'

Feedback would greatly help us in solving this.

    Blackberry 8900 5.0.0.090
    BerryBuzz without BerryPopUp ok
Blackberry with BerryPopUp ok for short while
BerryBuzz with BerryPopUp disabled ok (solves above problem)

All well until I get several sms in inbox, then nothing comes in. Once I turn off BerryPopUp they flood in.

BerryBuzz works for about 5-7 sms befor reverting to default.

Can you confirm that when BerryPopup is set to disabled the LED works? Setting it to disabled actually just turns off the popups. All the internal e-mail handling etc. stays in place. Would be important to know.
