likewise, received a notification in my email and updated in the same manner, but what i have to yet to see is my mms enabled as i thought it would be with this update, being on sprint you have the picture mail thingy but from what ive read here and heard from reps as well and others who own other models on sprint was that you would have the capability to send mms with the .135 update, tried resending the service books, doing resets and all, still nothing, dunno, guess ill jus have to wait and see

When you guys do the upgrade through RIM's site, as opposed to downloading through the carrier's OS page, does the OS still gets uploaded to your computer? I'm wondering if you can still edit the files to eliminate VAD and such to reclaim some memory. |

| Currently the OS update is not available on Sprint/blackberry site. Seems like RIM decide to do this on there own after all.

but the only thing i dont understand is i dont have a camera but have the capability for other media files to be played, saved or sent through IM and email, why not mms as well, all the other blackberries on sprint had become able to send them with the .135 update but the 8830, and as a world phone you would think that sending media in that manner would be an option ya know, not saying your worng because i dont doubt it with sprint, but just seems weird that the berries on their service had become able to with the very same software update, and to answer huracan, no it didnt save the file to the comp, just did their update thing which also kinda bugged me because if i had to reload it for some reason or another and didnt have access to the internet im screwed

Anyone on Verizon get it to work? I have tons of 8830's and just tried several, and all of them have 4.2.2.xxx (ranging from 148 , 176 and 196) and they are not updating at all, all reporting up to date! Not sure if this is just a sprint thing, but after looking and searching, the sprint users are getting this udpate with ease. just an observation - Hunter p.s. all have been swiped so no BES connected, even tried some with BES but to no avail. |
