I have been using 241 for 24-48 hrs and so far both Battery Life and Memory are holding strong. No issues found with it yet.

Sorry but I must have missed this some where, why is it not necessary to delete the vendor.xml with the Bold? In the past it was always suggested to do so with other units. I'm still trying to learn all the ins and outs.

I'm on .241 now, I did have the media player bug with the last OS versions so I'll check that today plus battery life. I hope this one brings me back to .210 days. Overall for just the first few hours the browser is quicker than .234,.237 for me.

I ran 210 and it was solid. But, IMO, 241 has been the best yet especially with wifi speed and the media fix.

.237 blows .219 out of the water. I suggest you all get that one...

1st day with .241 and I think this is the best so far regarding everything except battery life although it's better than the previous 2. I must say I'm impressed with the speed of the browser not just on wifi but 3G also. I just loaded some pages that required me to use java to view them and wow, no delay at all. The script loaded just as fast as a normal page. I'm going to turn it on to make some direct comparisons. The media bug is also fixed in this for me as well. Memory leak is the same if not a little better than .237. I started out at 59MB this morning and at 5:30 I'm sitting at 52MB. Just to note, I wiped my Bold before the install.

A wipe blows away all third party apps... Is there a way around that?

I think on some of the "beta" OS's (ones not put out specifically by a carrier), the vendor.xml file does not contain the information which restricts where it can be installed (or something along those lines). I just delete it anyway. Keeps my update procedure consistent. Doesn't hurt anything.

It is not necessary because the BOLD is a limited vendor device. If you look at the Vendor.xml file with a text editor you will see that there isn't really anything there.

With the BOLD OS upgrades it is most important to delete the cache, histroy and cookies, otherwise it will not finish the restore properly. The other option is to "wipe" the device for a "clean" install.

Well, it's been 17± hrs with .241. I have to say I'm impressed with this OS. It's fixed the media bug and given the processor a kick in the pants (everything is faster). IMO this update has been the best so far, even better than 210
