My settings were set for Combined Messages. Even then, messages marked "Mark Prior Opened" did not get cleared. Unread Message count did not get reset. Even with a battery pull. Also, UMA was stable in .100, not in .130.

I'll wait for the next leaked version and give it a try.
    Thanks,

Yes -- some sizes to ponder:

    4.6.1.250 for the 8900 - 123MB

5.0.0.100 for the 8900 - 97.5MB (some things were clearly missing from this release)

    and then

5.0.0.130 for the 8900 - 159MB -- clearly more code in this release, more functions and features, etc.

Also, as you note, BBM5 is probably bigger than its predecessor.

I have a fair amount installed and a few items running concurrently, and I see about 108MB free. I've watched the number dip to 99MB, and then climb back up to this point a few times. I get the impression it's actually pretty stable in this regard.

I installed 5.0.0.100 (4.3.0.27) and so far everything, FB aside, works. Of course Myfaves doesn't either. When I resent the UI for it my phone locked up and I had to shut it off (no reboot) a few times until I deleted all 5 SMS messages I recieved from the UI refresh. Not that it's a big deal but anyone get it working? I know the 4.3 platform has never been Myfaves friendly.

Not sure if anyone has noticed this yet but for those of you that have access to your Escreen on 5.00.100 you should check your RAM. The new OS allocates almost twice as much memory for RAM. Currently I have 38,693,776 allocated and 3,242,636 free (dexrex uses a lot, lol). The 4.6.1 OS only had around 25Mb allocated to RAM. I will post a screen shot when I get on my computer tomorrow.

WoW it's been a while since I have posted but just incase nobody has seen it, I'm too lazy to go back and read, under ringtone settings on .130 there is an option for Vibrate and Ring FINALLY.

Also, if anyone had issues with recieving SMS, goto Options > Security Settings > Firewall, and make sure the SMS isn't checked. Won't recover the blocked SMS but it will allow you to use it again.

Like I said I'm lazy and don't want to read a ton so if this info has been posted already, I'm sorry

But on a happier note, I'm glad to be Stackin' again

Thx for the post... As you guessed, we discovered vibrate & ring on 130, and the firewall issue too -- but it's always good to share tips like this.

I had been using 130 since it was available, and really liked a lot about it. Lots of little feature changes that make for a nicer experience (such as the way you can set and edit profiles). I *really* wanted it to be good enough to keep...but in the end, it was just too flakey for me. Serious memory leak (25MB in 12 hours); "Delete Prior" would stop working about 12 hours after rebooting the device, and attempting to delete multiple messages (multi-select) would cause the dialog to freeze (requiring battery pull); UMA extremely flakey on this release -- far far better on 4.6.1.250 and a few other choice issues. I finally HAD to roll back to 4.6.1.250, although I can't wait for a solid 5.x release.

BTW: I, of course, had the firewall / SMS issue, and unchecked the SMS option on the security / firewall screen. Oddly enough, when I later rolled back to 4.6.1 250, the firewall setting for SMS wound up being checked again, and actually blocked 5 SMS messages once I was on 4.6.1.250 before I realized what was happening. Had to uncheck it again.

Anyway --- welcome back to the stack!

I thought I bricked my phone trying to upgrade to .130 and DM allowed me to roll back to 4.6.1.231 and so I did it. Everything works again but now I have lost my Memo's (notes) and secure password storage app built into the BB. How do I get those apps back? I can re-sync the notes from Outlook if I can get the program back on there. I am not too concerned about the secure password program data either. I know most of that info and can re-enter it if I need to but the app is gone. Any ideas how to re-install them?

Finally on 5.0.130. Loaded fine this time. I am not sure what happened before but works good now. There is now an Audio Postcard app. Any other goodies that they have added?

I keep getting the following error when launching App World: "Error starting net_rim_bb_appworld: Symbol 'ThemeManager.getActiveTheme' not found."

Any ideas? I tried to upgrade AppWorld and it says I am running an unsupported OS version.

Yes you can. All 5.0 builds have individual sms ringtones for contacts. And in 5.0.130, vibrate and ring option is added :-).

Has anybody else tried Tour themes on their Javelin with the beta 5.0.0.130 OS? I tried it a couple of days ago and they worked as they shouls. Now I downgraded to the official 4.6.1.250 OS and they don't work anymore. Does anyone know if RIM is making all the devices with the same resolution able to share themes? That would be awesome. I'm gonna try out the .90 and .100 betas to see if they work with Tour themes also. I'll post my findings later.
