Just thought i'd add this.. I upgrade the OS Wednesday to 4.6.1.231. It was decent but in one day I blew through my battery. Had 18% left by 2pm. Yesterday I upgraded to 4.6.1.239 and with the same use, i've got 88% left. I dont' understand how there could be such a difference but I am very pleased ! Everything works perfect and is very snappy!

Decided to finally upgrade from .174 to .239 because I'm tired of my berry not backing up using DM for some odd reason; always a corrupt database or something. I'll report anything if I see it.

Lightbulb Clear Browser Cache prior to back up.

If you are having problems with back up, I found that if the browser cache is cleared prior to attempting a backup, the backup will be successful.
    Thanks,

So far since upgrading from .174 to .239 I've noticed a few things:
1.) Battery life has increased when I compare it to my everyday use of apps and such; definite improvement
2.) New Profiles option in the Options menu. Definitely a good improvement for those newbies that don't know how to change their tones
3.) Browser hardly hangs now when loading - when you browse, a page starts loading, you'll see your status bar at the bottom. Usually it'll freeze/hang right near the end to load everything. Now, it hardly ever does it!

All and all, definitely worth the upgrade. My only issue is my Profiles settings were not saved, so that was annoying having to go through all of those again. But I'd definitely recommend this update.

I think it's time for another update. I am not loving battery life or the few resets I've had with .239

I peek online every few days to look for the next update, but it hasn't been urgent for me as .239 has been a pretty good experience for the most part. Battery life has actually been great for me with this one. Using lots of WiFi/UMA, Viigo (always on), SMS, lots of voice calls, BB messenger, BeeJive IM, BerryWeather. Also been using Slacker with this a lot more too. Still good battery - so that's not been an issue for me.

Only thing I'd still be looking for as an incremental improvement would be more stable UMA phone calls, and no dropping of calls as I move from UMA to GPRS or EDGE - that's still really irritating.

I'd also be very interested in seeing a 5.x.x.x version for the 8900 that's stable and is supported by all my apps...

I couldn't agree with you more about the battery life Jeff. The battery life of the 8320 was way better.

It makes me laugh a little expecting the same battery life out of the 8900 with the hardware specs it has. GPS is a battery hog, the higher resolution and faster processor tax batt life as well. I think we need to get our expectations in line with reality.
