If it is the 8330m or 8130m then it will not work on the original 8330 or 8130 that I am aware of. I am sure it is the same for the 8830 as well. I have tried downloading and installing and it was a no go with the m-versions on older devices.

Since I've updated to 4.5.0.135, I've noticed i can view the MMS Inbox / MMS Outbox folders. I had a friend try and send me an MMS shortly after my update and i still get the handicapped link leading my to vzw's site. Anyone find it abling to get this to work? its just a PITA...

Unfortunately, this will NEVER work, even after VZW releases OS v4.5 for the device (reliable internal source says late April). The same source stated that VZW has no intent of supporting MMS on the device, period.

yeah. I figured as much. Figured there MIGHT be a glimmer of hope since the GPS was able to work without a hitch

I updated to 4.5 on my sprint 8830. I had purchased bb smartviewer and didn't delete it before the update. 4.5 is supposed to support html email but mine doesn't. Any ideas? I've gone into email settings and there is no show images option.

If your email is hosted by your provider (BIS), you will need to login and resend your service books. If it is hosted on a Blackberry Enterprise server (BES), then you may need to delete yourself and then reactivate.

Also go into messages and click options. Then go to email settings and make sure enable html email is set to yes.

My Desktop Manager notifies me that v4.5 is available for my BB 8830. The VZW website has not indicated so.

I found it a little strange that VZW website did not have 4.5 listed as available for the 8830, but hey .... Desktop Manager said it was available and I installed it. All seems well, so far ....

What exact version, including platform and package, was installed (from Options --> About, Options --> Status, or Help)? The same has happened for other carriers, where the Desktop Manager offers a release a few days before it is available for download on the carrier's website.

    I'm running ...

    Carrier - Verizon Wireless
    Model - BlackBerry 8830
    Version 4.5.0.138
    Platform 3.4.0.30

At first, I was skeptical that it was actually released because it wasn't listed on the VZW site although I received an email from RIM that it was available. When I connected my BB to the PC and launched Desktop Manager, the update was detected immediately.

Thanks. This appears to be the same version that USCC released a while back.
