First Official BlackBerry "Bold 9700/Onyx" (T-Mobile) Image
T-Mobile U.S.A.'s next major BlackBerry release is the BlackBerry "Bold 9700," or Onyx, and it will be the U.S. carrier's very first 3G BlackBerry smartphone. Though not even officially announced yet by BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion (RIM), T-Mobile plans to release the device before the end of the year.
The picture you see is the Web's very first official image of Research In Motion's (RIM) latest--and currently unannounced--BlackBerry smartphone: The BlackBerry "Bold 9700" or Onyx, as it was codenamed.
The BlackBerry 'Onyx' sports a premium experience and design with a high-gloss black finish and leather grain detail on the back. Boasting features such as high-speed 3G Web browsing, Wi-Fi calling, visual voicemail and support for corporate and personal e-mail options, the 'Onyx' will satisfy all your on-the-go needs. Also the phone comes preloaded with mobile applications from BlackBerry App World, including Amazon MP3 store for quick and easy music downloads and TeleNav GPS Navigator for turn-by-turn directions

Do I need to view this on the laptop to see the image? Not finding an image here via BB.

Well following the link helps. But if there's supposed to be an image on the thread then something is missing. I'm on the laptop and there is no image here....

This looks solid. Nice memory increase. Does it have GPS and wifi as well? Seems like this should've been the new Curve instead of the 8900. What was the purpose of that phone anyway?

Looks good - less bulky than the Bold, it seems. Interesting will be the OS that will give it life...! Dying to hear about this !
Sounds great, but I highly (and I mean that) doubt it will release in 09.

How does the increased memory compare to the 8900? I have NEVER had so much app memory as I do now, and I've owned every Berry except a Storm.

Can't wait. Hopefully enough this releases soon. It's definintely for us US T-Mobile customers with the Fave 5. Awesome. Goodbye 8900.
I'm a Blackberry Bold...lookin for my Sidekick
I think it's twice the original Bold, I may be wrong but recall that standing out to me when looking over the specs. Food for thought on the same topic, I wonder if Apps being installed/stored and used from the media card have some influence on anything.
