Bolt Browser Updated, Set as Default Browser and Password Manager Added

The 3rd party browser Bolt for BlackBerry and other java phones has been updated to version 1.6. Some of the new features include the ability to set it as your default browser, a password manager, enhanced socket support and more. You can download the latest version here and visit their site for FAQs and other info. In order to make Bolt the default browser for such actions as opening links in emails you also need to download the Bolt Launcher Plug-in found here.

I have used Bolt in the past and it has some nice features, can't test this latest version though since I'm using my Droid right now. If you try it out let us know how this latest version measures up. Do you like the password manager? Will you set it as your default browser?

Seems like you have to choose between the link that sets it as the default browser, or the link that just adds it to your apps as a standard secondary browser behind the stock RIM browser. There are times when I want to choose which browser I use so I am just gonna use the secondary link for now.

The password manager I think is great. Saves me a lot of time to input the info and then have to wait before I can click to log in. Now I just go to the page and log in. Also another thing is no more having to allow it to connect to the internet. It does it automatically. Much better improvement, I also notice web pages load a little bit faster.

I'd like to set bolt as my default browser but I can't seem to find the option. I downloaded both the bolt program and launcher and all I have is a menu option to open links in bolt. But if I click a link in an email it still opens bb browser. So where's the setting for the option? There isn't even an icon that shows up (or I can find) after installing the secondary launcher program... Any tips? Thanks!

EDIT: So i uninstalled both the browser and launcher and reinstalled. 1st installed browser, then launcher. On this reinstall of launcher it asked me to restart after it was installed (and it didnt do that the first time)... its rebooting now... we'll see if it worked. One thing thats really odd is that when you attempt to download a program in the bolt browser, it opens the download/install process via the BB browser... is that supposed to happen? Bolt cant handle downloading BB specific items?

Re-EDIT: still didnt work... so im back to original stem... how do u actually get it to work? hehe... thanks if anyone knows. Also, every time I forcibly open a pinstack thread link from an email in Bolt, I get a "Bad Request (invalid URL)" message... then I reload it, and then it works...

Final EDIT: in reading on some other forums about this, it seems that almost no one can get Bolt to be set as default on a BB, regardless of the launcher program. Some have submitted and are waiting for support responses directly from bitstream on this issue. Will report back with a response in time.
