    BIS 2.8 For North America

We said just about 2 months ago that BIS was headed for an upgrade and it has officially landed.

The features include, but aren't limited to:
    • Two-way wireless synchronization with Google Mail Contacts* and the Address Book on the BlackBerry smart phone:
Synchronize Google Mail contacts quickly and easily to the BlackBerry smart phone
Add or edit Contacts and the Contacts are automatically updated, whether they are updated on the computer or BlackBerry smart phone
The documentation says this is scheduled to sync every 4 hours and will not work on BlackBerry Connect devices. It also will obviously not work on BES contacts or even Google Mail Contact Groups whatever those are.

The full list of features and manual can be found here. So, anyone notice anything new yet? Has anyone had problems?

I resent the service books to my phone and so far nothing new. I did get the enhanced gmail plug in sent again but don't check my email on my bb anymore.

Apparently you need to be running 5.0 to utilize the contact sync feature. Sorry RIM, fail on that one at the moment.

If you only sync contacts the answer is no, if you use it for calendar the answer is you still need gsync

I sync both. I did get something on my gsync app saying another client is adding events to my calendar. Maybe thats from my work email account invitation.

Nothing. I've had the gmail plugin so I haven't seen anything. I've been waiting for T-Mobile to make an announcement to employees and nothing. Lame!!!
