So, this is an idiot guide and I must be an idiot. I cant figure this out.

I tried uploading it through the ftp but when I go to my http site, its not there. I can only see it when i put ftp in front on the url

Windows doesn't like the addition of the period when renaming the empty file off the desktop. Instead, call it just plain old htaccess to start with. Then drop the files into the folder. Then go to File>Save As, and then make the name .htaccess while resaving it to the desktop or your place of choice and it'll work like a dream.

Thank you to the OP for this thread! Truly deserves a cyber-round of applause. I can't believe there isn't more feedback on it really. A LOT of roads on the net lead back here. I've ended up here on mulitple occasions due to links from other sites. This thread is helping way more people than are speaking up, you can count on that!

I never did see an http site. Instead, once my folders transferred onto the FTP page, I opened the folder and looked for the .jad file. I then right clicked on the .jad and selected "properties" to get the name. That gave me the following (intentionally edited to be a dead link):

    ftp://iowaBT@iowaBT.io.ohost(edit).de/blablabla/yadayadayada.jad

The proper OTA link for said file then is:

    http://iowaBT.io.ohost(edit).de/blah...dayadayada.jad

You just lop off everything before the @ sign and add the http:// at the front. Worked like a champ for me anyway.

Iowa's right, the OTA/http link for the jad file is just that. Also, for anyone who uses firefox, from what I understand is everybody, "fireFTP" is a great little easy add on to it to get access to the ftp site, real easy file transfer and quick connection.

    Just throwing that out there.

Is this a special kind of host site? I tired using Mediafire.com and it was an utter failure.
