Ok, I have a verizon account, got the phone, got it unlocked, then cancelled the line I got the storm on. Din't get knew #, second line, knew phone, nothing. So basically I have my same verizon # that I have for 15yrs, and now I want to take myunlocked storm over to at&t. Is that possibal?

From my experience with cellphone companies, you just lost your cellphone number.
Because you cancelled the line instead of porting it to ATT you just released your phone number in the wild.
Right now your Storm is unlocked, indeed, but on NO service whatsoever since you canceled your Verizon account.
You can now definitely take your unlocked storm over to ATT, just go in buy a sim card only or sign a 2years plan and take a good discount on a phone you can sell or keep as a backup.
Put the ATT sim in the Storm and off you go.
But again, you lost your number.

To keep your number you should have done this :
Have a verizon account
get the phone
get it unlocked
walk to an ATT store
port over your number
(which will cancel your Verizon account but KEEP your number to a new ATT account).
