    hey,

Ok.. so after about a month of waiting, I finally got my 8700c. I thought I saw somewhere on here about having all the messages going into one folder, and a way of seperating them.... Here's what I mean.

I have the standard "messages" folder, when you open it, you have all your messages.. That's fine, except that all my texts go into there as well... I'm on a BES server, so I get quite a few e-mails in the course of the day. I would like to know what is a text and what is an e-mail without having to open it

If you use the Zen theme it will automatically allocate text messages vs. Email messages.

garran is right about the Zen Theme. I use it on my 8700g and really like it.

    But!

With you being on BES, you may need to get your administrators permission to unlock the Zen Theme.

    ACK,

    I've seen those instructions. hehehe.

I know the IT guys, they didn't setup any permissions, they are just the default ones.

Is there any other way? Such as a 3rd party program? I've been delaying my BES activation till I get this solved, I don't want to get flooded in e-mails and have to sort through it.

SMS messages have slanted envelopes, where email messages have straight envelopes, in the message list.

Also, you can use filtered views, pressing ALT + S will show only SMS in the message list. ALT + E will show only emails. Etc etc.

Oops! Apparently the E isn't a default shortcut.

However, going into the Search menu will allow for defining of shortcut key filters (or searches, if you prefer).

    Re: Woohoo

DrWoo, if you are delaying the BES, maybe now is the time to do Zen first. Apart from the fact that it will seperate your texts and emails, its a cool theme. You don't say who your carrier is or which version of the BB OS software you are using, but if your 8700 is new then either you may have access to the Zen theme already or it will be easy to search the blackberry.alx file on your PC desktop and insert the relevant vendor number if it isn't there. To get the vendor # input ALT+CAP+H ant will be a three digit # between 100 and 200. If you need more help just yell or look at the recent thread about 8700 and Zen. Hope this helps.

    Well...

The issue, I'm having right now, is that I'm searching for that file on my PC, and it's not there... I have sync'ed and made a back up, but that file doesn't live anywhere on my PC

If its the blackberry.alx file you mean just go back up this thread to the post by johnj41 and click on the link in there. It tells you exactly how to find it.
