Want to downgrade my 8700c from 4.2 to 4.1

I am not pleased with the speed and performance of the new 4.2 Handheld OS on my 8700C. It seems sluggish and I don't like the fact that I have to do 2 keystrokes to unlock the keyboard.

    How do I downgrade?

Does anyone have the 4.1 OS?

    Thanks!

Same process as upgrading.. Delete 4.2 handheld os from your PC, install 4.1, delete vedor file, open up desktop manager, plug in device, go to apploader and it will ask you if you want to downgrade, just follow the steps and you should be good to go.

Here I'm preety sure you will find a 4.1 here for your 8700c, just don't forget to delete the vendor file. http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.p...stem_Downloads

    Goodluck!

Get the 4.2 Rogers or Vodafone they work great. I recently downgraded from the AT&T 4.2.1.96 to the vodafone 4.2.1.94

AT&T- in my experience, slowed my browser down, degraded my signal strength, negativily affected my battery's power management and overall gave me the creeps.

    VODAFONE/ROGERS ROCKS!!

On your pc, go to my computer, c drive, program files, common files, Research in motion, app loader, and delete the vendor.xml file before you start your desktop manager. But I have to agree with Pequero, I used the Vodafone OS and it's the schnizzle. Who wants to downgrade? It's like trading in your new Caddilac for a 78 Pinto.

i got the problem with v4.2 too. it is simple, just remove the v4.2 from you PC then install the ver4.1.
connect you BB with Desktop Manager. (no need to downgrade to DM 4.1). Remember to delete the vendor.xml file in \Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\
    good luck

We've been loading other vendor's OS's for quite a long time. It doesn't matter what vendor your OS is for ATT, Rogers, Singapore...as long as its for your model BB you'll be able to load it. Only thing you'll have to watch is GSM/CDMA versions don't mix, and delete the vendor.xml file before you load it.

Yep -- I'm running Vodafone 4.2 on my son's T-Mobile 8700g right this very minute. It's one of the reasons that Berrys ROCK!
