    Hello Stackers...

I would like to unlock my BB 8700c for T-Mo service... also, is there anyone maybe you went through or recommend for me to be successful with this process? And should I update my BB with T-Mo's 4.2? I currently have At&ts!

    Thanks in Advance!!

If I am not mistaken - just take the phone to a ATT/Cingular store and they can unlock it. I believe they are required to do it if you ask them too.

Thanks... But, I wish it was that easy! They don't have codes in the store, plus they say that you have to have some International Serv. or something?!

If you are moving to a new carrier they are required to unlock the phone for you. If they say they don't have the code then I would tell them to find the codes out Sometimes a little rudeness goes a long way.

how long you been with Cingy/ATT? if you have been with them for a full contract term, they will email you the code. I just called them and asked for it and within 2 business day i had the code emailed to me...

Sorry I did'nt apply to original post... I use to have Cingular/At&t Serv. and now my 8700c was just collecting dust... So now I'm with T-Mo I would like to get it unlocked for use.

    I think I'm gonna go with... gsmphonesource.com - $19.99!!!

It's better than paying for a brand new one!!!

There's no need unless there's a fix or feature that you need in TMO's load. The OS really doesn't make a difference. Your carrier-specific configs are handled by the service books which are automatically pushed from your carrier's network to your BB when it registers on their network.

My two at&t BB's tend to have the latest OS loaded and it's rarely at&t for either of them.

I just used this service a few days ago. Got the unlock code back from Adam in a few hours. Worked like a champ and only 20 bucks.
