Question Trouble loading TMO 8700_v4.2.1.91 software

I downloaded the new handheld system software for my TMO 8700g v4.2.1.91. I run the installer software that I downloaded on the desktop, it runs through the whole deal and finishes without a problem. But the software will not load onto the handheld. I run the desktop manager. The application loader never gives the option to update the system software. I check the BB about screen and it continues to list the older version of the system handheld software.

Am I missing something? Can anyone help?

    thanks,
    john

i had this same problem with my 8700g. i remember seeing threads telling people to delete their vendor.x?? file (i forget the suffix), but i thought that was only for using an update from another carrier. if the update is from t-mobile (and i downloaded it direct from their site while logged in as myself) this just seems odd to me. any help? thanks!

You have to delete the vendor.xml file for it to show up in the manager. I did two phones yesterday!!! Only problem i find is that blackberry maps doesn't give a icon on application menu

If you don't have a tmobile phone, close the dm delete the vendor.xml file (search your computer for it) re-run desktop manager to install the os. You may have to open application manager to kick-start it.
