Wow, how long has the phone be active, I know with some services it takes up to 24hrs to be able to recieve calls or messages. If you want you can pin me and I will pin you back to see if that works.

    Re: text messaging

You should be able to receive sms messages from any capable cell phone. I've heard that there are some problems with sprint/nextel and SMS. Maybe cp1969 will know more.

    Yes, they should be able.
On my 8700c, which someone correct me if I am wrong the 8703 is basically the same phone from Sprint/Nextel, the option is there
    Just to be sure:
    1. Have your cursor over the icon that is labeled "messages"
    2. Click the scroll wheel
    3. Option list pops up
    4. scroll down to see Reconcile now
Now I am going to speculate, to get some feedback if this is not the case.
Maybe one of the Admins, Pros or Mods has another idea or can shed light.
Could the stacker need to have his svc books resent?
Confirm the network such as when browser missing?

    8703user.

Try to send yourself an SMS.
    • Open Messages App
    • Open Menu
    • Select Compose SMS
    • type in your phone number
    • type short message
    • Open Menu
    • Select Send

You should get it back soon.

    Hope this helps

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

SMS is independent of the service books, as in, you don't need a BlackBerry Data Plan to be able to send and receive SMS.

But you should be able to send yourself a message. If you cannot send yourself a text, there is something wrong on the network side.

Also, are you on BES? That would introduce a new set of conjectures.

    Re: text messaging

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~well I sent myself a sms and got it back!

When someone tries to send something...it says message cannot be sent.

However last night I received one from a friend...but she is the only one I can get them from...kinda strange! Any other ideas?
