Are you trying to send text messages over 160 characters long?

If not, try going to your phone's Settings > SMS Text > Network To Send Over | this should be set to GSM not GPRS. It won't work over GPRS.

Rhonda, have you tried resending your Service Books followed by a battery pull reset?

    Re: Text Message Errors

FWIW, the 8703e is a CDMA device. It does not use GSM nor GPRS.

The more likely explanation was that on New Year's Day at 12:01 am the network was overcrowded with lots of people clamoring to make phone calls and send text messages. I'm wondering if the OP has had a chance to try SMS messaging again and see if it works now?

If you're still having trouble, try this:

    - Go into Options (or Settings), then select Network
    - Click the scroll wheel to get the menu, and then select "Start Provisioning."

On the next screen, you'll get an error message saying something like "the site you are accessing does not have security settings that match your profile." Just click OK to continue.

This will prompt the Sprint network to reprovision your service and send you a new SMS service book. Hopefully this will resolve the problem.
