Ok so I recently got a 8700c blackberry. I cant figure out how to talk on it like a regular cellphone. I either have to use the speaker phone or a headset. Does anyone know how o fix this or does this phone not let you do that? Thanks

Not a good sign It should work like any other phone....is this a new device?

What happens when you turn off the speaker phone and do not have a headset installed?

There should be a button on your keypad that has a small speaker on it when you are talking on speaker phone press it and it will switch to earpeice.

Is this a new device? If an exchange is an option that I what I would suggest.

What you describe suggests a potential hardware issue. You may want to try loading an undated operating system on your phone, but I fear that will not correct the problem.

If you wish to try, there are links to How To as well as download sites in my blog (click below).

I sounds to me like your earpiece speaker is bad. You may want to replace it and are if that corrects the problem. You can pick them up for $3.99 here http://cnn.cn/shop/blackberry-8700-s...er-p-1667.html

I think that would be the cheapest thing to try first. Changing it out is not very difficult all you need is a torx screwdriver for the case screws and a small flat tip screwdriver to pry the speaker out.
