    SMS bit coding

What is the difference between 7 bit and 8 bit or UCS2? I am currently using 7 bit. Just wondering if it matters and what everyone is using? Also what network are you using GSM or GPRS? Is one better than the other?

UCS2 if I am not mistaken is used more for other countries overseas. Lemme see if I can't find a good definition.

Can't find a good definition of it, but it has to do with foriegn languages.

Like if you are sending messages in arabic or chinese or whatnot, then you use UCS2 coding.

I dunno, I just changed the coding on my 8100 to UCS2 and sent a text to the 8700 and it didn't make much of a difference.

My guess is for overseas carriers.
