One thing i really like about my 8703e is that for almost any purpose, if i have to, i can access characters with diacritics and special characters....
sadly, however, the same technique of holding a button and scrolling doesnt seem to work when composing an sms... sometimes i really want to type an á or something like that.... does anyone know of a way around this? i know the device has the capability..
my carrier is sprint, if that affects anything.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Actually, I use discritics quite often (quand j'écris en français).

The SMS protocol appears to support most discritics, but not all.

The only one I have noticed as being unsupported is ê. There are obviously others.

This is not a limitation of the device or the carrier, but the SMS standard itself.

You will know what's supported and what's not by whatever is available while holding the desired key and scrolling through the options.
