Saving Text Messages to a Computer?

I receive lots of text messages all the time, some of them I can delete right off the bat, but other others I need to keep for... "information". Right now i'm finding that my Inbox is getting very big, so is there a way I can just "port" these messages I want to keep to my Mac and finally delete them off my Blackberry?

    Thanks.

I don't think you can. The best thing would be to copy it to a 'note'. That was if you're using BES, it will sync to your pc too! That's what I do for thing I 'need'. Especially since I work in IT, and from time to time I need things, and don't want to cipher through thousands of emails to find it...

I agree with navilyn. The note thing is a great idea. Or you could copy and email it to yourself. That or become a blackberry developer and make an app to do what you want and then give it to users for free under a GNU license... that's what I would do... Java is not hard at all. It's about as easy to catch as Algebra...

Flagheimer, Try using the Forward As Command from the Messages App Menu, and send the message as an email to an email account that you have access to from the Mac. If you were using a PC, you could use ABC Amber BlackBerry to export the messages from your Backup .ipd file.

    Hope this helps

I get quite a lot of text messages myself and I use the "forward as" to email them to my gmail account.

are there any updates to this or is the "forward as" option still the only way to go? i have like 100 messages i want to forward, didn't want to compose or copy that many individual items, sucks!

Have you tried downloading the ABC Amber Blackberry trial version?

i'm on a mac running osx, sucks.

i'm basically looking for an app where i can connect my 8700c to a computer and export all my messages, including sms, rather than "save as..." one by one and forward them as an email.

    thoughts?

Re: Saving Text Messages to a Computer?

    Hi,

I've been trying to download and save my Blackberry text messages to my PC for some time (much like you can with Sony Ericsson phones and the handset managers) and finally came across this thread. Rcbjr is quite correct; the following is a link to ABC:

www . processtext . com / abcblackberry (I'm not allowed to post a link???)

It works a treat! Basically back up your Blackberry via the Desktop Manager, and then use the ABC program to open the .ipd file. You can then save the file as .pdf, .txt or various other options.

NB. This is an ABC Trial version for 30 days. Further, you can only save 10 messages at a time…although as they are already saved as a .ipd there is really no need – just reopen the backup file should you need to access the information.

    Thanks for the information Rcbjr.

    Fly safe…

Re: Saving Text Messages to a Computer?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Hi everyone, I hope I can explain this in a way that makes sense. I would also like to save texts from a certain person. I also use the forward as option. What I was wondering is... Is there a way to forward the entire string of text from the same person. The way I have to do it now is one text at a time. Very time consuming. Being able to forward the entire string at one time would save a lot of time.
