RIM Blackberry 8703e - Verizon -lotsa questions!

    Hi Gang,
I'm new to the forum and have some questions about the 8703e Blackberry.

    1) Is there a way to select multiple emails (so I can delete them!)

    2) I don't like how all my emails go into my Messages screen. I would really much rather have only my SMS texts there, since my emails already have their menus. Is there a way to prevent that?

    3) Are there any cool ringtones available for the 8703e? The ones that come preloaded kinda suck.

    4) Even though I delete emails from my Outlook and Yahoo accounts, they won't delete from my Blackberry. I've tried connecting the USB in hopes that it will reconcile and it won't. Is this possible?

    Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure you have to have BlackBerry Enterprise Server installed in order to reconcile email in Outlook. I don't have any experience with Desktop Redirector so I don't know if that will allow you to reconcile or not. My experience has been that everything outside of (read=cheaper than) BES doesn't allow you to do anything but forward your mail without any real reconciliation going on. Hopefully I'm wrong and there's another option.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~You need to log into BB Internet Service, delete the Active Acct that appears active. if your not wanted it. I simply use Gmail on my BB and SMS. I like to keep it simple far too internet freaks have 5+ emails? Weird. Then hide the Email Icon that appears on your Handheld to reduce the cluster.

Are you on a BES or a BIS ?

#1) If you select a date in the message menu you'll have the option delete prior which delete all email below that date

#2)You would nee to install the ZEN theme which separate SMS from emails and that would be better for you

    #3) Just like Bartokbatt said

#4) You can only reconcile email if you're under a BES so if you could reply to my first question I could help you better

    BTW Welcome to the stacks
I'm french canadian so I can also help you in french, just PM me
UNLESS it is for a BETA OS, it's at your own risk and I won't support it

Depending if you're using your BB for business or personnal use. I have 4 emails set up in my BB and only one of them is personnal and I need them as soon as possible when I'm not at my desk

Thank you for all your responses!

I just looked at the Email settings on the BB and it looks like I'm using BIS. I'm still getting used to this thing!

    No problem for the response

BIS means blackberry internet service that means that you set it up yourself on internet or the BB itself

BES means Blackberry enterprise server that means that your BB pass by a server from your company ( most of the time ) and can be reconcile with the server for the emails

From my understanding you are on BIS

Feel free to ask any other question if you need anything

    Okay, more questions Sn1p3r!

How do I go about setting up a BES for my Outlook Server? I have to be able to reconcile on this thing, I have like 200+ emails that I can't figure out how to delete, except one by one.

Is there a ZEN theme for the 8703e? If I download the 7100 version, will it screw up my BB?
