    is it time to panic yet (again)?

    my EDGE has been out for over 20 minutes. i can get GSM is all.

    DFW area.

    anyone else? my workplace in arlington is a dead spot but i can always get a network connection normally if i walk down the hall to a window.

    [edited in later: got through to tmobile who said this was another planned maintenance for network upgrades. the rep didn't have an etr or how long outage window was to be but he did give me 50 'bonus' minutes completely out of the blue!]

    20 minutes, that's nothing. Next door, here in GP, I had a tower that was down for a day and a half. And Cingular didn't admit it was down. Maintenance is something we have to live with. The systems are getting more reliable, but they do fail sometimes. Or need preventative maintenance or upgrades. All you can do is report the problem.

    I had a similar issue with my 8700c. Lost connection and nothing would work, on cingular mind you, all I have had to do was turn wireless off, and on again. It does it every few days. Good luck!

    Sometimes that will help, but sometimes there is a tower down either for Preventive Maintenance, Checks and Service, Tower Upgrades, or an equipment failure.

    I get this from time to time (Verizon). I'll either have 1XEV, 1Xev, 1X or just a "Data Connection Refused." It comes back on it's own, but I am sure it has to due with the current health of the network at the time! It's all good though!
