    Red Pin2Pin messages

A while ago (one year?) I downloaded a 8700 4.2 OS upgrade that was not from a US carrier. I had red Pin2Pin message indicator in my inbox and I liked it. I just got my wife a TMO Blackberry 8320, she has this red Pin2Pin as well. I saw that my carrier (Cingular/ATT) had a new 4.2 OS upgrade, and it was newer than what I had. I downloaded it and installed, but now I no longer have the red Pin2Pin message indicator. How do I get that back? Do I have to go back to the non-US 4.2 OS?

I'm not familiar with the "red pin2pin"
but try this for downgrading if that is what you wish: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...ngrade_os.html

Here is an example of the red Pin2Pin - notice the red message, that is a PIN message, the rest in black are regular email messages.

Darn, I cannot give you a screen shot to show you what I mean. But if you go to luko4.com/pix/bbscreen.jpg you will see it.

check Messages \ Options \ General Options \ then under Actions, Make PIN Messages Level 1 = yes

That is what I read somewhere too, tried it with yes and no, but didn't make a difference. The top message is a PIN message. See my General Options settings and the OS version:

I even took the battery out which seems to be famous for all fixes, but no go.

    Re: Red Pin2Pin messages

Rick, sorry I really don't know what else to try. I searched Google and Level 1 messages should arrive as red, and since you have that checked it should work, no clue why it's not. Someone else might be along to help but since I didn't see it on Google I'm not sure what could be suggested.

If you have the time, and nothing important on your BB to risk losing (things that backup/restore won't keep, such as apps) I would just try to re-do the install of the handheld software

    Re: Red Pin2Pin messages

Ahhh! I changed to the default theme and now my Level 1 messages are in red. It must have been the 3rd party theme that was overriding the red color. Just wanted to post this for others who may wonder the same thing.
