i made the upgrade from a regular phone to a bb8700 and i love it! the fact that these things have a whole devoted community is fantastic!
    and now for the q's:
-what seems to be the best image viewing software (preferrably free?)
-(true newbie q) how do i reorganize the icons on the desktop? (i saw something about this once, but i can't find it again!)
    a pre-emptive thanks to all!

Hello gavinrice, welcome to pinstack. As for the reorganizing of icons, what you do is hold down the alt key, very bottom left, and press the trackwheel. You will see move application, bingo.

Image viewing software, I use jiveslide. It lets me view all my pictures that I have in Yahoo or Flikr, free. Is that what you mean?

    Hope this helped.

Welcome to the Stacks Gavinrice. I concur with Chris, Jiveslide is an excellent tool. There are also several programs that allow you to view pictures stored on your BB. I don't believe any of them are free.

Hey Welcome to the Stacks Gavin... I have an 8700 and it is the coolest thing ever.... Are you looking to re arrange the icons? or just find what you need quicker than going thru each one from the trackwheel. Cp's alt key trick allows you to find your icon fast. Not sure about re arranging them in a different order though. Cp or someone, any ideas?

thanks! the alt+trackwheel is exactly what i was looking for....and it leads to a new question: if i hide an icon, how do i recover it if i decide later that i want it?

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
To resore hidden icons do it the same way, hold alt and click the trackwheel, then select "show all", then alt+click on the 'greyed out' icon you want to restore. Then alt+click and select "hide" again.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I am trying Ascendo Photo right now. I found it on Handango...free trial, $29 to unlock. It is pretty simple/easy to use...so far, so good.
