    Thumbs down No messaging sounds

    Hi Everyone!
I just got my 8700c a couple days ago. I've downloaded a few ringtones and graphic pics from Cingular.
I'm not understanding why I have no sound to notify me when I get a message of any kind. It will ring when I get a call..but no tings, dings or anything. I made sure I had all the messaging set to some type of sound.

If I do a hardreset won't I loose my ringtones and graphics that I downloaded from Cingular?

    Please help!

    Thanks!
ps. I did download bb messenger. my pin is 23CF802D

    Re: No messaging sounds

this guide is not for the 8700 but for the 7200 series BB. However, it should be VERY similar:

Hope that helps you set profile alerts for messages.

One glitch i have noticed with the 8700 series is if you are on speaker phone and turn it all the way down before you end the call.. it turns your ingers off as well.. you will have to initiate a call and turn the speaker phone volume back up
