    Question No Default Browser

    Hi All,
I've been browsing the forums for a while, but not found an answer to my particular problem...
Bought an unlocked Vodafone 8707v off Ebay UK. Registered it with TMO UK and am receiving emails.
However, I have no internet browser.
When I try to access the internet, it states "does not currently have any Browser Configuration Service Book entries"

When I look at the browser settings, it says:

    Browser
    Default Browser Configuration: (empty)

I've done the 'register now' thing, and logged into my BIS and resent the service books, without success.
I have "3G" and the BB symbol on my home screen, so think I'm on the right plan, etc.

Trouble is, TMO UK don't support 8707, have spoken to them twice, with no luck. Where can I get the service book from? Or, what do I need to say to TMO in order to get to the right people?
Any help or pointers would be great.

The people you'd need to contact is NTT DoCoMo. I think they're the only place you'd be able to get the firmware for that device.

    J,
Thanks - what do I need to ask NTT for?

The 8707 is a unique BlackBerry that works in Japan, and as far as I know, NTT DoCoMo is the only place you can get it. That's why t-Mobile can't send the service books - they don't have them. You MIGHT be able to get the firmware from them which might enable the browser.

The phone is branded Vodafone and I believe was issued in the UK.
Would Vodafone have the firmware, then? And by firmware, do you mean service books?

Yes! Vodafone UK does have the firmware for the 8707 here:

However, you may want to try a more generic version from RIM first which I just noticed here:
