Question Newbie - How do I connect to internet through USB

I have a blackberry, but my account doesnt include WAP or internet access (and I cant download anything good without it). Is there a way to connect to sites through the USB port? It's a direct connection, so it seems like it would be pretty easy. Please let me know. Also, as I am VERY new to using a blackberry, if you could explain how to do this in layman's terms, that would be great. Thanks!

You can't. You can download software on to your PC and install it on the BlackBerry that way. I'm surprised you don't have WAP as it's a money-maker for the carriers so most carriers have it. Which carrier are you on?

Why dont you put another sim on your phone that has internet access and download whatever you need that way?

I was told the internet plan was another $40 per month. I'm using Cingular.

You could use it as a modem for your home/laptop computer, however, that requires you having a data plan...sorry...

Just clarify with them - the "Internet Plan" and WAP should be two different things.

Yes, they are two different things, I think his terminology is incorrect. With Cingular, the "Internet Plan" that he is talking about is one of the BB Data Plans. And a BB Plan is required for both WAP and Internet access, in addition to email and any other data services he would be trying to get. It's the more expensive of the two and is required for those wanting BES access. The Personal BB data plan is $29.95/$34.95 depending on Phone Service.

    Hope this helps.
