Whats the OS?
Cingular finally gets around to releasing a new os for the 8700c and no one around here is discussing it? What's up with that?
Whats the OS?
Ha HA ha it's about time.... OS is operating sotware. What the BB runs off of Let me find the link and post it for everyone...
Sportin a kBerry Curve
This is the link i found. Is this the latest they have??? I dont see a 4.2 i guess we cant be too picky with Cingular... hmmm
LOL - I know what OS means.. I meant what is the OS #. 4.2 would be nice.
Don't expect to see 4.2 for the 8700 from any carrier until sales of the 8100 and 8800 level off. Why would RIM/Cing/TMO shoot themselves in the foot by giving away for free one of the biggest selling points of their new devices to the very people they want to sell the new devices to, current 8700 owners?
I'm not sure that 4.2 is compatible with the 8700 series processor anyway.
It is, but I wouldn't be expecting it to be released for 8700 devices with the 8800 series coming out.Originally Posted by giamburrasca

There are some new features that 8700 with the new OS (even if it is compatible with 8700) won't offer, such as WIFI capability.
It's a shame that I will have to spend, say about $300 or more for another phone, that's with an TMO upgrade. But my curiosity will have me killed if I don't get my hands on a 8800 when they are available.
I'd choose to live...
What do you think is different about this update other than the multilanguge part?

A few months ago I put the 8707 OS on my 8700c. I would like to revert back to the Cingular OS but can't seem to locate it. I tried following the link in this thread but I get an error message. Would someone point me in the right direction so I may download the latest OS for my 8700c?
The first step to curing your (Blackberry) addiction is admitting your addicted. What addiction, I don't have an addiction!!!
