    n00b Question--Battery Life

    Howdy howdy. I'm new here.

I just got my BlackBerry 8703e about 3 days ago, and it's freaking sweet. I want my device to last a while (especially since it's got to last 2 years until my wireless contract expires!).

Has anybody had any problems with the batteries in these? I usually wait until my battery is down to 5-10% before I charge it, since charging it when near-full (usually) makes the battery life shorter. (This has been my experience with past cell phones and PDAs.)

Is this necessary on these devices, or should I just charge it whenever I feel like it?

On your USB cord, you can charge it whenever you want but on the wall charger I would suggest charging whenever you want but only until fully charge not only half

Had customer that had battery problem with the wall charger when they charged it only half
I'm french canadian so I can also help you in french, just PM me
UNLESS it is for a BETA OS, it's at your own risk and I won't support it

BB batteries have been Li ion for a long time. You can top them off as needed.

I've ready conflicting theories on this. From what I've heard, there is no need to run your battery down. Infact, I've heard that it's not good for Li ion batteries to be drained. just top it off when you can. I use USB everyday. Works fine.

The li-ion battery can be charged whenever, so I just keep mine full if possible.

The BB has the necessary charging circutry to insure that your li-ion battery gives you max life, no need to try to outsmart it via excessive discharging or such. Just keep it as charged as you can all the time (so you are already 'ready' for any extended wireless use).
