    have a 8700g (upgraded from a 7100) and had never had this problem; Enterprise activated.

    When I receive a mail, I open it, and then click the wheel to get the context menu.
    In several mails it takes up to *20 seconds* for the menu to show up (e.g. the reply all option)!!!
    In other mails it is immediate (as I was used to)

    Anyone has an idea to help me?

    What OS do you have on your Blackberry?
    Who's the carrier?
    If you click 'alt' 'cap' 'h' together and bring up the help screen.... how much free memory do you have available?

    How many contacts do you have?
    How long do you have be set to keep emails 15, 30, 90, forever?

    ^^ You can go to "options" than to "about". It would say v.XXXXX (platform XXX)

    newest one from TMO is V4.1.0.284 I believe, well thats what I have at least

    ***I just found out you can see the version with the -ALt-Cap-H button too. It says App Version.

    Is this the ONLY time the Blackberry delays? Or does it delay during other functions?

    If you did a restore of your email from the 7100 to the 8700 try this.

    Open desktop manager and select the Backup & restore feature. Click advanced and scroll to messages and clear (delete) all messages currently on the 8700 and do the same for "purged messages".

    Then unplug and restart device. If problem is resolved then before restoring emails. do this...

    Make sure the 7100 has OS 4.1 and not 4.0 if it has 4.0 then...

    Plug in the 7100 and back up all and then upgrade OS to 4.1

    Makeup you select backup/restore all data and applications when upgrading..

    after upgrading make a backup of the 7100 now running 4.1

    then plug in the 8700 and restore the data from that backup.

    See if the problem still persists

    If it does then we'll do a benchmark test on your 8700 compared to mine to see if your BB has faulty RAM, xscale or some other defect.

    Hi Hydn,
    I did not do a restore. I basically deleted all the mails in the 7100, then inserted the SIM card in the 8700g, then went to the desktop manager and did the Enterprise activation.

    The strange thing is that this happens to some mails but not to all.

    The there must be a common specific about the emails that cause the delay.

    Lets see if we can isolate by sender, attachment type, BES or non bes email etc.

    found something that may help: if I go to the address book and select a name and click the wheel, then the same phenomenon happens i.e. a long long time till the menu shows up

    seems that it has to do with the items that are connected to the company i.e. any emails not coming from people from my company have no problem!

    Can it be that it has to do with certificates? i.e. it tries to fetch certificates? am I missing any certificates and therefore it is fetching them?
    I did try to do synch of the certificates in the desktop manager, but no luck...

    No not the certs.

    Sounds like your having latency connecting to the BES server back and forth. Try this... go to the address book / press the track wheel to bring up the menu / scroll up and select "lookup" and search one of your employees by first name only

    delays there also? If yea u may want your BES admin to delete your BB from the BES and then add again from there. Start a fresh BES account with this new BB
