    LED Questions

I've finally figured out how to turn off the flashing green LED. Now, I'm trying to figure out the red.

    1) I would like the LED to flash only when I have phone messages. Any idea how to do this? In the profiles, I only see the option for "Level 1 Messages" and "Messages". I'm assuming these mean both phone and email messages? Under the "phone" option, it seems to imply that I can set the led to flash when the phone rings, but there is no setting for phone messages.

    2) Are there any 3rd party apps that give better LED control? e.g. Bulter for Treo that allows you set colors for the LED for missed calls, messages, alarms, etc.?

    Thanks all in advance.

    Re: LED Questions

    Eliott, Welcome to PinStack.

For each type of Alert in each profile you can change the notifications for each type of alert, Browser, Calendar, Google Talk Alerts and Messages, Level 1 Messages, Messenger Alerts, Messenger Messages, Phone, SMS and Tasks. In each of these you can set the options for In holster and Out of holster. For each there is a Repeat Notification setting with two options, None and LED Flashing.

Set the ones you don't want to Flash to None and the others to LED Flashing.

    Re: LED Questions

When I set the profile for "Messages" is that for only email messages? Or does that include voicemail?

I am trying to kill any email alerts and only give alerts for phone messages.

Voicemail is the same as SMS, not Messages.

    Eliott,

Can you provide instructions to turn off the flashing green LED. I have a 8703e if that matters.

    Thanks.

Question 8700v red LED until messages viewed?

I see on my 8700v that the red LED blinks for a short period of time (5min?) but I would like to make it blink until I actually read the new messages or at least until I touch the phone. I sthis viable?

    Re: LED Questions

    Howdy,

I've been looking for a way to change the LED color notification depending on the type of message waiting. Ex: red for SMS, green for MMS, blue for email and so on. The other very helpful addition would be a way to change the rapidity of the blink rate. I'm tired of having to stare at the Pearl for 5 seconds to see if i have a message, i would love to be able to just glance at the phone for a sec and know if i have a message.

I feel like i have OCD having to stare at the phone seemingly all the time to see if i have a message.

    Whatev, just dreaming.

    Thanks fot this. Very nice!

Should have found it myself by now

Would be nice to have this as a profile option so the LED could be off at night when the unit is on the bed side table.
