    IT policy Removal

Hey guys, I got an 8700 from Flea Bay, and have searched on how to remove the IT policies and wipe the handheld. And have found a bunch of broken links. Im not intending on using this device on a BES, just for my personal BIS, and need some info on making it work..
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure it has an It policy. Usually when you get a device from ebay it looks like the previous owner had a BES account cos of the settings you see, for example you are only asked if you want to set up a work email or skip this step.

This alone does not mean it was running BES cos when you sign up to BIS new settings are sent to your device.

It was the same with my ebay purchase.

OK, I removed the IT policy and still a no go, with the 8700. I just re-registered my old curve and got all of the service books and crap for the other device. And still a no go with the 8700. ATT said that there should have been no problems with the device. And it should have registered, but it still has not.. I was thinking that it was from the outage, But at this point I dont think so.

Even though it's part of the - uh - "other" forum, it is a nice, objective reference!
