Is the 8700C the same as 8703e

I recently got a blackberry 8703e from work (my first blackberry) and became obsessed with it in no time.
For my personal use I was using the Cingular 8125 - Windows Mobile Pocket PC.

With that being said I just bought a 8700c for my personal use. How different is the 8700c compared to the 8703e from Sprint?

They're comparable but not the same. An 8700 is an 8700. An 8703, 8705 or 8707 is not an 8700 (implied by the different model numbers).

You can always compare device specs side-by-side using the tool at Blackberry.com.

Nice, just did it. Seems they are basically the same.

Is it true that you can't teather the Cingular 8700c as a modem? Or have they implemented that in the new OS yet?

Yes you can but they will charge you for it. I think they have their own tethering plan you have to purchase on top of the BB service.

Yes you will need their BlackBerry Internet Service plan, preferrably unlimited if you want to use the browser, chat, email, BB Messenger, and any other third party IM programs.
