    installing apps using application loader

When I have the bb connected via desktop manager to my laptop I attempted to load some apps I downloaded. I unzipped the apps and extracted the .alx files. I opened the application loader and browse to the extracted .alx files, but when I select them I get an error message that the program did not find any files for my device. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hello, you must have the .cod file next to the .alx file to be able to download them through DM. Hope this helps.

It's a good idea to also have your hand held OS installed on your PC.

It can mean the file you are trying to DL via DM isn't made for your phone. IE an 8700 file and you have a 7100 phone.
