    I'm Going Back to 4.1

Maybe I just had a bad install but for me v 4.2 of the BB OS sucked.

I used the vodaphone latest release...but it still ran buggy. I was getting errors all the time, phonebook numbers were randomly disappearing...it was basically running as if it was posessed.

Some apps seemed to run really slow, and I didn't notice any great new functionality.

Anybody else go back to 4.1?

I went back, it's running rock solid, faster, and has more theme support.

You guys with 4.2 can keep it...heh heh.

I just got on 4.2 and so far i'm pleased. I came over from an 8100 and the device app transfer went over so smooth due to it being 4.2 to 4.2. It's like having a mirror image of eachother, including features, so I think I'm gonna hang onto it.

It sounds like you had a bad install. I didn't really have an errors at all with my 8700 on 4.2. I think that voda OS was and is the best.

You got to go back 4.1 v on 8700.. that why I refuse to get loading 4.2v for my sweet Tmo 8700. I am happy with it since 2/2007..

I am glad you got 4.1v back on your bb 8700... stick to 4.1 till RIM will release 4.3v for all BB series.

    Try using this 4.2:

    Opera works on this version.

I have had 4.2 voda os on my 8700 since it came out and have had no issues. My only issue is the low amount of theme support but I still stick with the Zen theme..

What do you mean by this? You can still use all the themes from here:

87xx Themes and you can unlock the vendor themes. BTW my fave theme right now is AquaBerry!

No you cannot. It will not even give you the choice to activate. Also many themes that I have successfully installed according to the DM or even OTA don't even show up (with the unlocked .alx) in the list to choose from.

Hmm thats weird. All my 8700 pre 4.2 themes still work without a problem. I even have ones from when the 8700 first came out.
