    How to debrand my device??

I have an unlocked 8700c that I use on T-mobile. And since I work for a T-mobile dealer, I would like to remove the cingular logo that is on the screen. Anyone know how to do this? I am guessing that I can just replace the screen on the front housing but I am not sure. I don't feel like taking my BB apart until I have to. I actually like to color of this BB and don't really want to change the housing but will if I can't remove the cingular logo. Any help and tips would be great. Thanks

You can't. It's hard coded and burned into the firmware, mainly as its the carriers that subsidize the hardware.

Just the outside, not the inside. It's just kinda bad when a customer see's my phone and we have a Cingular dealer across the street.

You'd need to swap keyboard assemblies as well (if not the entire housing).

Where you use a sugar cube to 'scratch off' the lettering. I am off again today so I might take it apart and see what's going on. I also have a old dummy 8700g so I am gonna see it I can do anything with that too.

    Black Sharpie Baby!

Think the actual logo is embedded into the plastic of the screen and not right on top of it, so the ole sugar cube trick may not work...

Well I just tried with my dummy unit. The only way to scratch off the carrier's name from the LCD screen is to scratch it from the inside. The bad thing with this is that it also scratches the black border around the screen. I think it makes it look alot worse so I am just better off getting a new whole housing from BBRepairshop.

Well it still won't look good. Cause you have to scratch it off which leaves scuff marks that a Sharpie couldn't cover.

I want an O2 screen to put on mine.

Just so when I walk around and people see the BB they will be like "Whats O2?"

Then I can tell them I work as Oprahs Personal Assistant on the Oxygen network and I'll get all sorts of 40 something housewives! WOOT!

Honestly I am a manager for a tmobile store, and when I get dummy phones I ask for extras because I tare them apart , the plastic LCD cover comes off, take a blow dryer to the screen and the glue will soften, all u have to do is swap the plastic lcd covers? Its the same piece isn't it? (I've never held an 8700g so correct me if I'm worng)
