How do I setup a group SMS?

After unsucessfully trying to set up a
GROUP SMS list by hand on my 8700c
    and doing several different searches
here in the forum, I have given up and
am appealing to the masses or selected
individuals who are privvy to this secret
    process.

Here is what I am doing according to the
instructions I have found on other sections
of this forum and what I have deduced for
    myself.

    1. In the Address Book I wheel click New
    Group
    .
    2. A dialog opens up and asks that I name it.
Below that is the text *No Addresses*
    3. I wheel-click again and I get some options,
one of which is Add Member.
    4. After wheel-clicking on the person I want
to add is where I get stuck.
    There are no
options to save or add or paste.

What am I missing? I know it so simple that I
will want to kick myself repeatedly in the butt
after you guys tell me. Throw me a bone here
    please.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I struggled with this as well. And to the best of my knowledge you can only set group email lists. At least that's all I could ever succesfully setup.

The step you are missing is between 2 and 3:
    • 2a. Enter a name for the group
However, iamsteelio is correct. This is only for email groups.

I'm already doing that, I just forgot to add that to my list last night when I created the topic. Thanks for pointing that out, though.

I'm pretty sure it can be done for SMS because the supervisors where I work send group SMS messages all the time. I've tried to get him to show me how he does it but is reluctant to hand over his precious BB to me . Go figure, he probably thinks I want to snoop. What a dumbazz.

Maybe someone else knows, thanks for the input folks. In the meantime, I'll keep researching and trying different ways.

    edit:
What if I add a persons text to email address to their profile in order to create a psuedo SMS group? Anyone try this and have it work reliably?

Good idea - if you have all day to mess
around with that. I have several groups
which range from 11 to 34 people in each
group. That won't cut it. Thanks for playing.
