You are talking about the Contact to SIM card transfer It is a one by one transfer of Name and one telephone number to the SIM card for use in phones that don't have address books. To use it you need to have the telephone number you want transfered for the open contact selected, and use the menu to transfer.

You should have a backup that you can restore to the New BB. Unless you haven't performed a backup recently. Or if you have synced your large address book with an organizer (Outlook or such) you can just import them to the new BB, then change the setting to sync.

    Hope this helps

    1. You dont have transfer option on the 8700
    2. The USB port doesn not work, so no sync

    You Should.

    1. Open the Address Book
    2. Open the first Contact
    3. Scroll to the phone number you want associated with that Contact Name in the SIM phone book.
    4. Open the Menu.
    5. Scoll up to the top of the menu, Copy to SIM Phone book is the first option in the list
    6. Select Copy
    7. Close Contact
    8. Open Next Contact
    9. Repeat from Step 3

    Hope this helps

Have you never synced your 8700 to a compatible organizer or made a backup?

Won't the 8700 sync over BT? You can pick up a BT USB adapter relatively inexpensive nowadays.

great idea. amigotek. I never use that method, but it should work if the BT USB adapter has the correct BT Stack.

    Thanks

I am having the same problem and before I can return my Curve, I need to be able to transfer my address book to my Laptop. I bought a Bluetooth Dongle but can't seem to transfer anything over.

Is this possible with the 8300?

    THanks,

    Chris
